Welcome to Cardiff Only

Cardiff was only christened the national capital of Wales in 1955 making it a young capital, yet it has over 2000 years of history and culture behind it, something its inhabitants are exceedingly enthusiastic about. It is a City that is expanding at a phenomenal rate, after the decline of the docklands in the early to mid part of the 20th Century. By the beginning of the 21st Century the docklands were revitalised dedicating them to shopping and leisure complexes.

Attractions in Cardiff include the new Mermaid Quay, which is renowned for its restaurants, the Oval Basin and the Atlantic Wharf Leisure Village and of course the Millennium Stadium which is the best illustration of modern Cardiff, not only hosts national and international sporting events but some of the largest names in the musical world have also played within its hallowed walls. The City boasts an excellent university and major airport as well as its own Castle, which is situated within the very heart of the City. Five minutes drive from the centre of town is the Museum of Welsh Life, one of Europe's largest open-air museums, containing over 40 genuine Welsh buildings built painstakingly re-built brick by brick. If you feel inclined to try some traditional Welsh dishes the 'Celtic Cauldron' is the place to be, serving some of the oldest Welsh dishes".
